Five Extraordinary Churches
Studying these unique churches will take you on a journey back through time from the early 20th c to the early 12th c - All Saints (Brockhampton) (thatched Arts and Crafts), Hoarwithy (Italianate), Shobdon (Strawberry Hill Gothic), Dore Abbey (Cistercian origins) and Kilpeck (the Romanesque jewel).

As a guide at Hereford’s unique Cider Museum, and previously with one of the county’s prominent cider-makers, I can take you through the history of our most famous beverage and how it is made to this day – even better, you can have a taste of it and savour the wide variety of flavours that can come from the simple cider apple.

The Romanesque Churches of Herefordshire
The Herefordshire School of Romanesque Sculpture is recognised as a style of stone carving unique to this area of the Welsh borders – dating from the early 12th.c. See examples of the sculptors’ stunning artistry that have survived for nearly 900 years.
